Insurance and Health Plans
At the present time, TMS Therapy is covered by most insurance companies on a case by case basis. Because TMS Therapy is a relatively “new” treatment according to the health insurance industry, most insurance health plans do not have a clear coverage guideline. If your insurance plan denies coverage for TMS Therapy, we will help you through the appeals process. Aetna, BC/BS of TX, and UHC are some of the health insurances that have reimbursed some patients in Texas. Because TMS Therapy is becoming more available around the United States and more patients are receiving treatment, insurance plans are actively evaluating their policies on TMS Therapy and we expect benefits to become more widely available by early 2012.
Payment and Financing
We do not contract with any health insurance plan*, so payment for TMS therapy is required prior to receiving services. We accept payment by cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard as explained in our Financial Policy.
Many patients who cannot pay out-of-pocket, they have used the following ways to finance their TMS Therapy.
- Clark Behavioral Health (CBH) Financing.
- Flex plans/Health savings accounts
- Personal Loans
- Loan from 401K
- Home Equity
- Family, friends or other support
*We have opted-out of Medicare. According to Medicare rules, you can still receive psychiatric services here under “private contract,” but Medicare will not allow you or us to file, and Medicare will not reimburse for the cost of these services.
