John M. Bouras, MD

Dr. Bouras is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and TMS Specialist, in private practice in Victoria, TX. Dr. Bouras is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Sciences in Applied Physics and a minor in Social Personality Psychology. He attended medical school at the Medical of College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Bouras completed his Psychiatric Residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Bouras has been clinically trained in the use of TMS Therapy since March 2010. He also completed a visiting fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Duke University in July 2011.

Victoria TMS Center (VTMSC)

VTMSC was established in March 2010 offering TMS Therapy to residents of Victoria and surrounding counties. Dr. Bouras felt that TMS Therapy, being a 21st-century biological treatment modality, is the beginning of a new era of understanding and treating Psychiatric illnesses. This novel, cutting-edge treatment is also available in large medical centers and in over 300 locations around the US. TMS Therapy is currently FDA-approved only for clinical Depression, but there are several studies looking into its efficacy in other psychiatric conditions like anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Auditory hallucinations, Borderline PD as well as other conditions like migraines, tinnitus, fibromyalgia, and rehabilitation from strokes.

Our Philosophy is that we see each and every one of our patients as members of our community family. We treat our patients with the same respect, care, and attention that we would like our family members to be treated. There is still some stigma attached to psychiatric conditions, but just like medical illnesses such as hypertension or diabetes, problems can be managed and sometimes eliminated with proper medication and/or therapy. We are here to listen and to help, and will do everything we can to bring lives back into balance. There is every reason to have hope...
